Feedbacks from student interns in Summer 2015

Chan Hoi Yan Eillen
(Translation and Interpretation-major)

Partner: Bookman Books Ltd. in Taipei

"It is an inspiring and exciting adventure in which you take on a new identity in a foreign place alone for three months. Yes of course challenges arise here and there as you work as an editor for the first time, handling scripts from German plays to law to architecture appreciation, while you have just settled yourself in the city in a whole skin. This experience will sharpen you in all the ways you need, and from then on you will find yourself better in communication, problem solving, taking initiatives and most importantly, learning."

Kwong Mei Yan
(Translation and Interpretation-major)

Partner: China Youth Development Foundation

"在青基會實習短短的兩個月裡,我不但有機會接觸翻譯和校對等文書工作,還能參與部門會議和協助舉辦大型活動,藉此對社會公益服務有更深的了解,可謂穫益良多。"

Leung Hei Ting Janet
(Translation and Interpretation-major)

Partner: The Commercial Press (HK) Ltd.

"I enjoyed working in the Commercial Press as an intern because I have gained so much knowledge and understood my strengths and limitations. I grabbed the essence of editing work, that are accuracy, coherence and consistency. Besides, I have learned to be communicative in presenting my ideas in the process of producing teaching material. The Internship Programme enabled me to acquire and strengthen these vital skills and characteristics so as to be well-equipped for my future career."

Lung Pik Ying
(Translation and Interpretation-major)

Partner: Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole, the University of Hong Kong

"I find myself a lucky girl to be chosen as one of the two student interns in Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole. The ten-week internship did not only equip me with new knowledge and skills for future career, but also broadened my horizon through my participation in organising exhibitions, publishing new books, welcoming guests in ceremonies, and so on. I also learnt from my colleagues some important attitudes in work. In fact, more than the knowledge and the real life experiences, I also gained friendship, which is a bonus to my internship."
